I picked up some spray paint for $.99/can at Michaels. I brought my items home and was ready to get started.
Materials:
- Two picture frames
- Two cans of spray paint (Celery & Greek Stone)
- Tarp
But then I had Strike Two.
When I opened the back of the frame it turned out the glass and it's setting were glued to the frame itself. Ugh. The setting came out fine, but the glass had a different plan.
After a few moments of my "this isn't working" face, I moved forward. I decided to turn this picture frame into a shelf.
The colors came out beautiful and clean. Except for the bubbles. Strike Three.
It's not uncommon for me to cut corners to save time and money on a project. Some of the time it works out. Sometimes it bubbles.
I knew painting a finished surface isn't really a good idea, but in my haste to complete my first project, I did it anyway. Also, paint REFUSED to stick where the glue for the setting and glass had been.
In the end, the picture frame/shelf turned out just okay. But I look forward to future projects that I will be truly proud of.

I love the color!
