Shopping at Goodwill

My first outing to find items that could be transformed into something more beautiful wasn't as successful as I envisioned it to be.  As I feel asleep last night I had illusions of items presenting themselves to me as I walked into the thrift store.  Nothing quite so divine guided my path.

My first Goodwill outing

I spent somewhere around an hour poking through 3 aisles of others cast aways.  Some items were pretty on their own.  Some I could see spending some time on but not at the price they were asking.  I noticed when we walked in that all "white" tagged items were 50% off.  Initially, I made it my goal to ONLY purchase what was labeled white.  Strike One.

Walking in the store I was pumped to find every. single. white. tag!

Luckily, J didn't catch me from the front.
You surely would have seen my "this isn't working" face.

In the end, I left the store with two matching, badly banged up picture frames, a display shelf for dishes and a few plates that stole my heart.

The plan is to paint the picture frames to match and sell them as a set.
Total spent:
Picture frames   $4.99 each  Yellow Tags :(
Shelf   $2   White Tags :)
Set of 4 8' plates   $4   Purple Tags :- Really not a bad price for the most beautiful dishes in all the world
Set of 4 4' plates $2 White Tags :)

Total: $18.94

Next up, paint.
